PaperTrails (papertrails.in) is an independent informational website providing guides for Indian government processes. We are not affiliated with any government body.

What data we collect

PaperTrails does not collect personal data on our servers. We do not require account creation or login.

We use third-party analytics tools to understand how the site is used:

  • Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymised page view data, session information, and custom events (guide views, searches, state selections). Data is processed by Google under their privacy policy.
  • Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised session replays and heatmaps to help us understand usability. Data is processed by Microsoft under their privacy policy.

Cookies

We use cookies only for analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity). We do not use advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies. We store your selected state (for the homepage state filter) in your browser's local storage — this data never leaves your device.

Contact form

If you submit the contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent to us via our email service. We use this information only to respond to your message and improve our content. We do not share it with third parties.
